Math & physics, without the clock.

Unlimited, one-on-one help where students drop in and stay as long as it takes to truly understand — no time slots, no rushing, no anxiety. Founded by UC Berkeley math & physics grads.

~1,000 students taught Grades 1–12 + college / AP Drop-in · no time limits

StudentI'm stuck — the balloon's radius grows at 2 cm/s, how fast is the volume changing?
TutorGood one. Before any formula — what's changing, and what do we actually want to find?
StudentThe radius is changing… we want how fast the volume changes.
TutorExactly. So which equation links volume to radius?
V = 4⁄3 · π · r³
StudentOh — I differentiate both sides with respect to time.
No timer. Stay as long as it takes.

Why we're different

A space where everyone can openly think.

Most tutoring sells you a 50-minute slot and a stopwatch. We sell understanding — and we don't stop until it clicks.

all_inclusive

Unlimited time

Drop in and stay as long as you need. No watching the clock, no "we're out of time" right when it's getting clear.

lightbulb

Real understanding

We build the why behind the math and physics — reasoning it out together — not memorizing formulas you'll forget by the test.

groups

One-on-one, in person

A real teacher, in the room, focused entirely on your student — patient with every question, at any level, from pre-algebra to differential equations.

The Open Thinking Method

Four steps from stuck to mastery.

A simple, repeatable path — and parents see the progress at every step.

01 · search

Diagnose

A short session to find exactly where your student is — and where the gaps really are.

02 · route

Plan

A clear plan built around their goal, from AP exam to "finally get it."

03 · psychology

Think it through

Unlimited, guided practice. We ask the questions that build independent thinkers.

04 · mail

Report

A short, honest progress note to you — so you always know how it's going.

You'll actually know how your child is doing.

After sessions you get a clear, friendly progress note — what they worked on, what clicked, and what's next. No mystery, no "fine, I guess." Just real visibility most tutors never give you.

Sara — Calculus, week of June 22
2 drop-in sessions · ~3.5 hrs · Goal: AP Calc AB readiness

This week: Sara worked through related-rates problems and now sets up the equation on her own — a real step up.

Growing: turning word problems into the right setup. We slowed down and reasoned each one out together.

Next: a short guided practice set — we'll review it Thursday.

Drafted with AI from the teacher's notes, reviewed & sent by a real teacher. Your child's full name is never shared with any AI tool.

Most popular

Unlimited 1-on-1 Tutoring

Drop in by appointment and get one-on-one help for as long as you need — math & physics, any level.

  • Pre-algebra → Calculus III, Linear Algebra, Diff Eq, Statistics
  • High school & AP Physics through college sequences
  • No time limits — understanding sets the pace

Term-based

Classes

Small, structured group courses across the school year — grades 1–12 plus college & AP.

  • Summer, Fall & Spring terms
  • Elementary math → AP Calc BC, AP Stats, Physics C
  • Built on real understanding, not memorizing
See class schedule

A real teacher teaches. AI just does the paperwork.

We use AI behind the scenes — to draft your progress notes and handle scheduling — so your teacher spends more time with your child, not less. The teaching is always human. The AI never sees your child's full name.

Guided, never just handed the answer — the same way we've always taught.

How we protect your child's information
  • Records stay in our own private, controlled accounts
  • Each family only ever sees their own child's reports
  • AI works with code-names, never your child's identity
  • Nothing reaches you until a real teacher has reviewed it
Parents & students

What it feels like to finally get it.

Questions parents ask

The things you're wondering.

all_inclusive How does "unlimited" tutoring actually work?
You book a drop-in session and stay as long as your student needs that day — there's no 50-minute timer and no "we're out of time" right when it's clicking. Some students come for an hour, some stay through a tough problem set. Understanding sets the pace, not a stopwatch.
functions What grades and subjects do you cover?
Math and physics only — and we go deep in both. Grades 1–12 plus college and AP: from elementary math and pre-algebra through Calculus III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Statistics, and high-school, AP, and college Physics.
payments How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on whether you want unlimited drop-in tutoring or a term-based class, and how often your student comes in. The simplest way is a free consult — we'll find exactly where your student is and walk you through the options with no pressure. Start with the form below.
diversity_2 Do you support students with learning differences or autism?
Yes. Students who learn differently are genuinely welcome here — the no-clock, one-on-one format is often exactly what helps. Tell us what works best for your child in the form and we'll make sure their teacher knows before the first session.
verified_user You mention AI — is my child's information safe?
The teaching is always done by a real teacher, in the room. We use AI only behind the scenes to help draft your progress notes and handle scheduling, and it works with code-names — your child's full name is never shared with any AI tool. Records stay in our own private accounts, each family only sees their own child's reports, and nothing reaches you until a real teacher has reviewed it.
location_on Are you in-person, and where?
